Recently I have begun getting disc read erros so I went back to my ISO file and re-burned a DVD at 1X speed to increase reliability. Ever since the first time I tried the new disc, the drive will no longer read anything. I even went back to the newest original I have and it only ready it 1 in 10 tries (of course giving me the error for being an old version, but the other times it just wouldnt read it at all).
Has anyone had their DVD drive go bad? I had an old CD player in a car that went bad and was told it was becuase i was using CD-R's for an extended period of time, though I never fully bought into that. I have a hard time believing because I am using a DVD-R it would have caused an issue.
I have an max care warranty that would cover it, but when they see the non-oringal disc I'm not sure what they will say. I was thinking about using my older original, but with my luck it will be the one time it brings up the 'old version' error instead of the 'can't read' error.
