Now whenever I connect an original controller this fake driver takes it's place, making it impossible to work properly.
If I uninstall this driver in the 'Device Manager' there's no 'Delete' option and it will come back to life once I reconnect the controller. If I uninstall and manually delete the driver files (hidclass.sys, hidparse.sys and hidusb.sys) they will still return when the controller is connected again.

While it’s true that the PS4’s controller is recognized by Windows (and OS X) right out of the box, existing games don’t automatically work with the gamepad. The problem was likely with me unpairing the controller in the Windows bluetooth settings when DS4Windows wasn't running. Or some variation of that. I fixed the issue by re-pairing the PS4 controller in the Bluetooth settings while the DS4Windows program was open.

With Device Remover I was able to get rid of the fake driver completely, afterwards I installed the correct driver.
